About Klas Grinell

I qm employed half-time at Gothenburg University, most of that time goes into being Director for the Center for European Research (CERGU). My other half-time I spend as culture strategist at the Dept.  for Cultural Affairs at the City of Gothenburg.

In 2015-2018 I have been leading the research project Museological framings of Islam in Europe.

The purpose of the project has been to analyse:

- the exhibiting of Islam in Germany and the UK from 1945 to 2014;
- how the museums studied have created local and European framings of Islam;
- how these frames have related to changing official policies on the subject;

I am also working within another Swedish Research Council funded project called Reconciliatory heritage: Reconstructing heritage in a time of violent fragmentations.
